1.INTRODUCTION
Biological molecules that are insoluble in aqueous solutions and soluble in organic solvents are classified as lipids. Fats and oils are made from two kinds of molecules: glycerol (a type of alcohol with a hydroxyl group on each of its three carbons) and three fatty acids joined by dehydration synthesis. Since there are three fatty acids attached, these are known as triglycerides.
2.DESCRIPTION
Lip is a lipase enzyme preparation obtained from the submerged fermentation of a high lipase-producing microbial strain. It is widely used in food, feed, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, ***ergents, wastewater treatment and pulp and paper making industries.
3.WORKING MECHANISM
Lipase is an enzyme necessary for the absorption and digestion of nutrients by microorganisms and higher organisms. This enzyme is responsible for breaking down lipids (fats), in particular triglycerides into diglycerides, monoglycerides, free fatty acids and glycerol.
4.PROPERTIES
Lip provides maximal benefit at pH 5.5-10.5 and at the temperature of 30-45℃ (86-113¡ãF).
5.SPECIFICATION
Lip is available in solid preparation as:
Lip PW 8(with enzyme activity of 8,000 U/g)
Unit definition: The amount of enzyme needed to liberate 1 umole fatty acid from triglyceride in one minute at specified conditions.
6.APPLICATION GUIDE
For use as a feed additive, Lip can be added to the mix at a rate of 0.05-0.1%.
For the paper making industry, Lip is added based on the instructions of the technicians.
7.PACKAGING
Lip is packaged in 25 kg/plastic drum.
Alternative packaging is available upon request for smaller or larger volumes.
8.STORAGE
Store in a cool, dry place and away from direct sunlight. Lip maintains its activity for considerably longer time when stored at lower temperatures (below 25℃). The product should not be frozen.
9.HANDLING PRECAUTIONS
Lip is non-toxic and biodegradable. However, unnecessary contact with the product should be avoided. Long term |
